Proceeds
Proceeds from our events got to charities and worthy causes. Over
the years we have donated thousands of dollars, to numerous charitable
organizations and worthy causes in Leitrim and Boston.
History
The County Leitrim Society of Boston was revived in 1994
by a group of Leitrim exiles in the Boston area, in the aftermath
of Leitrim's historic Connacht Football Championship victory. The
original society had gone out of the existence in the 1950's. We
number around 200 members, and consist of natives of County Leitrim,
(a county in the North West of Ireland), people of Leitrim extraction
and anyone with an interest in Leitrim, or Ireland in general.
Frank O'Rourke was our first President from 1995 -1997, followed
by Jim Gallagher 1997- 1999, Theresa Mawn 1999 - 2001, and John
McGrath 2001 - 2003.
