Installation of Officers, 2000
WhiteWater Rafting Trip, Deerfield River, Western Massachusetts, June 29th 2001.
The Leitrim Society organised a Whitewater rafting trip on the deerfield river in the Berkshires, Western Massachusetts on the weekend of June 29th. We rafted the gap section of the river. A group of 12 went on the trip and it was a huge success, as they say the"craic"was mighty. Nobody will be picking on any more Leitrim rafts for water fights in the future!!
Ski Trip at Sunday River Ski Resort, Maine, March 23-24 2001.
We ran a weekend ski trip to Sunday River ski resort, Maine, the weekend of March 23-24. 20 people went on the trip, and a great time was had by all, both on the ski slopes and at the apres-ski scene afterwards.
Annual Spring Dance, April 8th, 2001.
We held our annual spring dance on April 8th, 2001, at Concannon's Irish Village in Norwood, MA. Music was provided by the Andy Healey band. Outgoing President Theresa Mawn, and new President John McGrath both addressed the gathering. Fr Raymond Barry, a native of Drumshanbo, who returned to Boston after many years spent on the missions in Africa, also addressed the gathering.
Christmas Party at Pat Flanagans, Quincy, December 10, 2000.
We held our christmas party on December, 10th, 2000, at Pat Flanagans in Quincy, MA. We had an attendance of nearly 200 people. Santa made a special appearance for the younger generation, and Hugh Gaffney and Connie McEleney finished off the evening with a rendition of "Lovely Leitrim".
Installation of Officers, May 21, 2000.
The installation of officers for the year 2000 took place in the Function room of the Castlebar, Brighton, on May 21, 2000. Connie McEleney was MCC for the evening.

1999 Christmas Party at the Irish Cultural Center, December 12, 1999.
We held our christmas party on December, 12th, 1999. John McGrath, Society Vice President was MC for the evening.
The party was held at the Irish Cultural Center, Canton, Massachusetts. Over 200 people attended.

We had a special guest appearence from a visitor from the North Pole!!
2nd Annual Golf Tournament, August 1, 1999.
We held our 2nd Annual golf tournament on Sunday
August 1st, 1999, at the
Newton Commonwealth Golf Course, Newton, Masssachusetts. Around 15 teams
teams took part on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We then retired to the
function room of the CastleBar for a buffet and a prize giving ceremony, and
of course a few beers to cool off! Frank O'Rourke did an excellent job in
organizing the event. The proceeds from the event were donated to local
charities.

Annual Spring Dance, April 18th, 1999.

Michael Gill wins the membership raffle of a round-trip to Ireland. The second round-trip ticket to Ireland was won by Catherine Meceli.
Around 400 people attended the April Spring Dance at Concannon's Irish Village, Norwood, MA.
